Sweets for your Sweeties and just in time for Valentines Day! Learn how to make delightful treats and delectable, edible gifts to share with your Sweeties. You will take home a variety of sweet treats that evening.

Bonnie, will do an overview on the benefits of including more beans and legumes in your diet including the benefit of decreasing the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Bonnie will demo some great recipes using beans and will have other recipes and products to sample. Come collect ideas on how to add more legumes to your menu and also share your ideas with the group.

Bulk Buying Basics - Co-op 101 with Andrew Ashcroft and Jeremy López

Andrew and Jeremy will walk you through the products and procedures for buying as much or as little of an item as you need, the benefits of buying from the bulk and spice aisle, and we will also sample some of our favorite products from the bulk aisle.

Do You Want to Sell Your Produce? with Jeri Person and Kim Falter

Learn more about selling produce to the Co-op. Kim, produce assistant, will discuss organic standard’s and the USDA final rule and how that applies to what and how we sell your produce. Jeri, the produce manager, will go over the retail store certification for exempt non-certified organic producers, the local growers agreement, and purchasing guidelines for non- organic produce, ordering schedule, and delivery protocols. Nick Wharton from Good Nature Farm will share his practices on prepping, packaging, labeling, and invoicing. You will learn how to prepare your produce to be retail ready and why communication between the grower and the retailer is important in having a successful relationship. If you’re interested in providing fresh produce for the Co-op community we would love to see you on Sunday, April 1.
